Former Governor of Sokoto State, North-West Nigeria, Aminu Tambuwal, has boasted that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will successfully wrestle the mantle of leadership on the country from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), come 2027 general elections.
He stated this on Monday during the flag-off of the Ramadan package distribution to the people of state.
Mr. Tambuwal while emphasising the need for unity in the PDP, claimed that the party’s mandate was forcefully stolen in the 2023 presidential election.
“I want to take this moment to express my gratitude to our party chairman and the leaders of our party for their tireless efforts in organising and mobilising the people, ensuring that our party remains strong and united in Sokoto.
“By the grace of Allah, what was taken from us will be returned in 2027,” he said.
Commenting on the ongoing Ramadan Mr. Tambuwal urged for prayers for good health and longevity to celebrate many more.
“We must recognise the grace of Allah for being alive to witness another Ramadan, despite the many lives lost.
“We continue to pray for good health and longevity so that we may celebrate many more blessed months of Ramadan,” he said.
Tambuwal is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who has served as Senator for Sokoto South since 2023.
