Hon. Mojisola Meranda has resigned, has resigned as Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly.
Meranda announced her resignation at the plenary of the House on Monday.
She said she had to make a personal sacrifice to protect the legislative institution.
The Deputy Speaker of the House, Mojeed Fatai, also resigned.
Meanwhile, Hon. Mojisola Meranda, has been demoted to the position of the Deputy Speaker.
Meranda returned to her former position after she resigned as the Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly on Monday.
