The Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, has suspended 67 Enigie [Dukes] of Benin Kingdom.
The suspended Enigie’s Dukedoms cut across the seven Local Government Areas in Edo South.
Their suspension was announced in a statement on Friday, by the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor.
The statement noted that “their suspension is as a result of their anti-palace and rebellious activities against the Oba of Benin and the traditional institution.”
Some of the suspended Enigie are: Prince Aiguobasinmwin Akenzua, Enogie of Siluko; Chief Eki lyawe, Enogie of Obazagbon; Chief O. Igiebor, Enogie of Idumuodin Igbanke, Chief Owenaze Idemudia, Enogie of Ewan; Chief Matthew Ogieriakhi, Enogie of Uvbe-Nisi; Chief Richard Osaigbovo Ogunbor, Enogie of Ukhiri-Eresoyen; Chief Aimuanmwonsa Enadiakhe, Enogie of llobi.
