The spiritual leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that God has departed from Nigeria’s President, Tinubu.
The clergyman made the assertion during a recent public address in Lagos, where he warned that unless significant changes occur, Tinubu could face difficulty in the 2027 election.
Ayodele’s warning revolves primarily around Tinubu’s economic policies, particularly the controversial removal of fuel subsidies.
He suggested that these measures, combined with Nigeria’s worsening economic conditions, are alienating a large portion of the population.
According to Ayodele, “[Tinubu’s] leadership is not bringing relief to the people, but hardship.”
He pointed to the removal of fuel subsidies which has been a contentious issue, the rising inflation, soaring unemployment, and the escalating cost of living as evidence of the growing dissatisfaction among the electorate.
He argued that without adequate support systems in place to cushion the effects of such drastic changes, Nigerians are increasingly feeling the strain.
Ayodele who reflected the sense of frustration many Nigerians feel as they continue to grapple with economic difficulties, warned:
“If this government doesn’t listen to the cries of the people, even those who once supported Tinubu may soon turn against him,” he said.
He also pointed to the internal political tensions within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the defection of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, as a sign of deeper divisions within the party.
