An Assistant Suprintendent of Police (ASP), simply identified as Caleb, and his wife, Tate, have reportedly hacked each other to death under yet-to-be-verified circumstances.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at Ita-Eku, Igirigiri Road, Odo-Ado, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Residents in the area were shocked to their marrow when they woke up to discover the lifeless bodies of the couple with deep cuts all over them.
It was gathered that on the fateful day, the wife who had always accused her husband of extra marital affairs, chopped off her Husband’s penis.
A source in the area who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the fierce battle between them led to their untimely death.
“The husband known as Caleb, was an Assistant Superintendent of Police, and his wife, known as Tate, were married with children.
“The fight ensued after the wife accused the husband of engaging in extramarital affairs, a battle that has lingered between them for some time.
“In the heat of the disagreement, the wife attacked the man with a knife and cut off his manhood.
“In retaliation, the officer, while in his own pool of blood, reached for a cutlass and attacked the wife, macheting her to death.
“They bled profusely and died. Their corpses have been deposited in the morgue at a hospital.”
The State Police Command spokesman, SP Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the police have launched investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
“It is confirmed, and an investigation has begun to determine the actual cause of their death. We are still investigating the incident,” he said, adding that their corpses have been deposited in the morgue.
