Nigerian journalist cum publisher, Dele Momodu, has advised President Bola Tinubu to watch against gradually turning himself to a civilian dictator.
Momodu who gave the advice during an interview on News Central TV, also reminded him of the impending rebellion.
He expressed deep concerns about the current leadership of President Tinubu, even as he warned against the rise of what he described as a “civilian dictatorship.”
Momodu while reflected on his stance towards Tinubu’s government, emphasized that his recent letter to the president was meant to be a constructive advice and not an attack.
He had written the letter to Tinubu, following the political crises that ravaged Rivers State, and President Tinubu’s subtle preference for one of the gladiators, Nyesom Wike, against the incumbent governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara.
Momodu reminded the President of life after office, and the need to live according to his democratic billings and background, stating that God has been kind to him to give him what Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and the rest could not get, notwithstanding their popularity and doggedness.
According to him, recent happenings at the Lagos State House of Assembly, where the lawmakers impeached his anointed Speaker, whom he restored, is part of the signals towards the impending rebellion.
“My letter to President Tinubu is an advice, not an abuse, but I never imagined that he could go to such length as sacking an elected Governor.
“I cannot sit down and watch us replace military dictatorship with civilian dictatorship,” he said.
