Finally…Abducted Afenifere Youth Leader Eniola Ojajuni Regains Freedom

The National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Ojajuni, has regained freedom from his abductors after 12 days in custody.

His release was confirmed in a video on Saturday by Ojajuni himself.

“I’v been released. I was released in Ibilo, Edo State,” Ojajuni’s said.

The circumstances surrounding Ojajuni’s release remain unclear, including whether the ransom was paid or if security operatives played a direct role in securing his freedom.

247nextnews.com reports that Olajuni was abducted on Monday, February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja for a meeting.

The assailants who reportedly ambushed him along his route and took him to an undisclosed location, demanded a ransom of ₦100 million and two tricycles before considering his release.

The case gained national attention on Wednesday when a distressing video of Ojajuni surfaced online.

In the footage, he was seen at gunpoint, pleading for help from Nigerians to raise the demanded ransom.

It would be recalled that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on Wednesday, ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to secure the safe release of Ojajuni.
