How Police Operatives Rescue Victim 7 Hours After Abduction In Anambra

Operatives of Anambra State Police Command have successfully rescued a kidnap victim (name withheld), just seven hours after his abduction  by armed criminals.

The feat was achieved following a swift and coordinated operation by Joint Operatives from the Command’s Tactical Team.

A statement by the Command’s Spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that the victim was abducted at Umuru Village, Nnobi, in the eat hours of Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

“The criminal elements had earlier demanded a ransom of ₦10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) only.

“Consequently, the Joint Command Tactical teams, on an intelligence-led operation were immediately deployed to the location for aggressive and extensive combing.

“Under the pressure of the advancing rescue operation, the kidnappers hastily released the victim and fled into nearby bushes.

“The victim was rescued unharmed, debriefed, and has since been reunited with his family,” Ikenga said, adding that the operatives are currently working on some clues for the possible arrest of the fleeing hoodlums.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, has commended the operatives for their swift action.

He reassured Anambra residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to fighting crime, protecting lives, and ensuring public safety.
