Ahead of the swearing in of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo on Monday, the State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, has ordered a massive deployment of personnel around the venue of the ceremony.

247nextnews.com reports that Aiyedatiwa would be sworn-in on Monday, February 24, 2025, inside the main bowl of the Akure Stadium.

Afolabi in statement on Sunday in Akure by the State Police Command’s spokesperson, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, explained that the deployment was to ensure the safety of all and also ensure smooth running of activities.

He added that escorts attached to Very Important Persons (VIPs), will not be permitted entry with rifles, as part of security measures.

He, however, explained that they may remain around the stadium perimeter in designated areas.

“Commuters who regularly use routes around the venue are advised to take alternative routes for ease of movement and to reduce congestion.

“Vehicle owners who usually park around stadium area are strongly advised to park in safer locations to avoid damage, congestion, or obstruction on the road.

“All security agencies will be on ground to enforce compliance with these guidelines,” the CP said.

He, therefore, urged the residents of the State to align with the guidelines to ensure a secure and orderly event.
