Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have on Tuesday abducted a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Miss Lawal Rofiat Kofoworola.
A close friend of the victim who identified himself as Agbakwara, announced the incident on his Facebook account. He expressed distress over the situation.
The victim was said to be traveling from Benin, Edo State, to Ogbomoso, via Ibadan, Oyo State, for her primary assignment, when the gunmen struck around Ore.
It was gathered that her abductors have since contacted her family and demanded a ransom of ₦20 million.
Agbakwara described Kofoworola as someone who had struggled to support herself through university by working at Dufil company in Benin, adding that her parents could not afford the ransom.
He stated that a report had been made to the NYSC Secretariat in Ibadan, providing Kofoworola’s call-up number, but there had been no official response.
He pleaded for assistance from Nigerians, urging authorities and the public to help secure her release.
