Kidnappers of Ishaya Kukah, a brother of Mr. Hassan Kukah, the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, North-West Nigeria, have demanded of ₦50 million ransom for his release.
The victim was kidnapped last Wednesday with six others, including women and children from Anchuna village, Ikulu Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A member of the family, Samuel Kukah, who confirmed the ₦50 million ransom demand, solicited prayers from Nigerians for the safe return of their loved ones.
He added that residents of the community had continued to call for intensified security measures in the area.
“The kidnappers have placed a demand of ₦50 million ransom, We have reported the matter to the Local Government authorities and security agencies and military commanders in our area,” Samuel said.
Kaduna Police Command spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached at the time of filing report.
