A violent fight between two persons has led to the tragic death of a man in Victoria Island, Lagos, South-West Nigeria.

The fatal incident occurred on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at NPA Road, Victoria Island.

Lagos Police Command spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday, said two suspects are already in police custody in connection with the incident.

He said the case was reported at the Victoria Island Police Division by an individual who witnessed the dispute.

“The suspects and the victim were involved in a fight over an issue yet to be determined.

“During the altercation, the victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, for urgent medical attention.

“Unfortunately, he was confirmed dead by the attending doctor,” the statement read.

Following the report, detectives were deployed to the crime scene and the Hospital, where the deceased’s body was inspected and documented.

The remains have since been deposited at the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Hundeyin assured that the suspects were in custody, and investigations were underway to unravel the circumstances surrounding the deadly clash.
