Almost two years after the death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, has been ordered to be tried for administering the deadly injection that resulted in his controversial death.
Magistrate C.A. Shotobi of the Lagos State Coroner’s Court, gave the order in Ikorodu on Friday, July 11, 2025.
247nextnews.com reports that the singer’s death on September 11, 2023, triggered public outcry and calls for justice, particularly over the circumstances surrounding his passing.
The auxiliary nurse who was thereafter arrested, has remained a central figure in the ongoing investigation.
During her court testimony in March 2025, Ogedengbe admitted to administering a tetanus injection to Mohbad, after which he began to vomit and experienced adverse reactions.
Shotobi ruled that while no foul play or homicide was established, Ogedengbe’s conduct amounted to gross negligence and unauthorized medical practice.
He further held that she unlawfully administered an injection to the late singer without a doctor’s prescription.
“In line with Section 29 of the Coroner Laws of Lagos State, this court recommends that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, initiate appropriate legal action against Feyisayo Ogedengbe for unauthorized medical practice and gross negligence,” Magistrate Shotobi stated.
