Nigeria @65: Dr Isibor Charges Leaders On Commitment To Development

The National Chairman of Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), Dr. Samson Isibor, has called on government at all levels to desist from paying lip service to the welfare of the people.

Isibor who stated this in his message to Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, charged Nigerian leaders to be fully committed to developing the country for the benefit of all.

He bemoaned the skyrocketing prices of goods and services in the country, noting that it has made survival a herculean task for most Nigerians.

According to the CRPP boss, successive administrations in the country have in one way or the order contributed to nation-building, but emphasized that their contributions weren’t enough.

“Nigeria at 65 years ought to have attained greater heights, but, not much has been achieved as a nation. The nation has been bedevilled with bad leadership, banditry, kidnapping and unpatriotic acts by nomadic herdsmen.

“If you can’t address insecurity, the farmer cannot go to their farms, they can’t plant and inflation will not come down,” he stated.

As a way forward, Isibor charged government at all levels to improve on the nation’s security architecture.

He called on Edo State Government to borrow a leaf from western states in Nigeria and set up a security network like Amotekun and not to depend on vigilante whom he he said are not living up to expectations.

Dr. Isibor also called on the Okpebholo-led administration in Edo State to stop being selective in appointments to leadership positions, but to run an all-inclusive government.
