Operatives of Ondo State Police Command, South-West Nigeria, have arrested five suspected kidnappers and two Okada [motorcycle] rider-collaborators who helped them to terrorise parts of the State in the last few weeks.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Wilfred Afolabi disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking to journalists in Akure.
He gave the names of the suspects as: Abdullahi Mallam Bala, Umaru Abubakar Sanda, Yusuf Ahmadu, Ridwan Salisu and Umar Isyaku.
The CP disclosed that the two Okada riders, Lekan Temitope (a.k.a. Legelege), and Komolafe Sunday (a.k.a Veego), helped the kidnappers with foods and logistics.
Afolabi further confirmed that many suspects had been apprehended over kidnapping in the State, but the police tactical team was still working on how to arrest more kingpins before making their status public.
He noted that the police recorded the success with full collaboration of local vigilantes and hunters.
