Rivers of Crisis: Tension As Pro-Wike Lawmakers Give Fubara 48 Hours to Represent 2025 Budget

 

The pro-Wike lawmakers faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara to represent the 2025 budget within 48 hours before them.

The Martin Amaewhule-led lawmakers met on Monday in Port Harcourt, the State capital, after a judgement of the Supreme Court gave them recognition them as the bona fide members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

247nextnews.com reports that Governor Fubara had signed the ₦1.1 trillion 2025 budget passed by the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led faction, into law.

All eyes are now on Fubara to see if he will comply with the ultimatum issued by the pro-Wike lawmakers.
