Former stars of Nigeria’s Super Falcons living across Europe will reunite in Helsinki, Finland, on September 19, 2026, for a novelty friendly match.
The much-anticipated football fiesta is aimed at promoting unity, friendship and the growth of women’s football.

The development was disclosed to Voice of Nigeria (VON) by Finland-based ex-international and Olympian, Ayisat Yusuf, who was recently appointed Assistant Coach of the Super Falcons.
Yusuf, who holds a UEFA B Coaching Licence and works as a sports instructor in Finland, represented Nigeria at three FIFA Women’s World Cups, four African Women Championships and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
She said the friendly is designed to create a warm, positive atmosphere for retired players to reconnect and celebrate the game they love.

“It is to reconnect, build, unite, network and enjoy the game we all love,” Yusuf stated.
According to her, the event will also help to promote women’s football, encourage fitness, foster mutual support and strengthen the Nigerian football community in Europe.

“Many of us have not seen each other since retirement, some for almost a decade. It is an opportunity to reconnect, celebrate our football journey, strengthen friendship and create new memories together,” she added.
Among those expected to feature are Ayisat Yusuf and Francisca Agbara (Finland), Perpetual Nkwocha (Sweden), Prisca Imefule and Ogechukwu Onyinanya (Ireland), and Ropo Ojo (Finland), alongside other former Falcons.

A fun fair has been lined up to hold immediately after the match.
