Presidential Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, has debunked rumors regarding the health status of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Onanuga in a statement shared on X, dismissed claims that Wike had suffered a stroke and was flown abroad for medical treatment.
He describing the reports as complete falsehood. The rumors, which had spread widely on social media, claimed that the former Rivers State Governor had experienced a severe health issue and was urgently sent overseas for treatment.
These baseless reports prompted the Presidency to take immediate action to prevent public panic and the spread of misinformation.
Onanuga criticized the sources of these rumors, calling them “online idiots”.
The Presidential spokesman posted a video showing Wike leading a Sallah tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House Banquet Hall, intended to put any concerns about the Minister’s health to rest.
